Subject: Louis Jordan - What else do you need?!
Louis Jordan was one of the most talented composers and musicians of the era. He really pioneered R&B and Rock music in the 40s and 50s.
If not for him, modern music would be several shades tamer.
Watch, and understand where today's music comes from.

Subject: Very Good!
Lots of great music, as previous reviewers have noted. Humor is also of good quality, and there's none or little of the "dialect" humor sometimes seen in race films ("Juke Joint", anyone?).

Subject: GREAT MUSIC AND HUMOR
Great music and a wonderful opportunity to see these jazz musicians and singers interact.

Subject: Plot is rather thin
But I think the movie was just an excuse to play the music. That's alright. The music is good. The music makes it worth watching.
